Listen up teachers, here's a fun lesson to get kids thinking & building.
I call it the "Scrap-vention Challenge"!
For grades: 1, 2, 3
What you'll Need: A bunch of egg cartons, cereal boxes, plastic bottles, juice cartons and other recyclables.
Challenge the class to "Scrap-vent" a machine that will change the world. They will have 25 minutes to design & build their machine using the recycled materials. These can be imaginary machines but they all must do something positive for the World.
Have each child present their machine, share its name and what it will do. They can also write a short story about how their machine will help the planet, etc.
Topics covered: Art, the Environment, Creative Problem Solving
